Taiwan has unveiled the Papa Delta kamikaze drone, which has become the second copy of the Iranian "Shahed". The development takes into account Ukraine's experience, but funding for the program of $6.59 billion has not yet been approved.

Taiwan continues to develop its own attack drones, using Ukraine's experience in the war against Russia and support from the United States. One of the new developments is the Papa Delta kamikaze drone, which has become the second Taiwanese copy of the Iranian "Shahed." This was reported by Defense Express, writes UNN.
Details
According to the publication, the Papa Delta drone, created by Thunder Tiger Group, is an adaptation of the American LUCAS attack drone. Earlier, Taiwan had already introduced the Chien Hsiang kamikaze drone, designed to strike radar stations and anti-aircraft missile systems.
Defense Express notes that Taiwan, together with the United States, is actively developing its own drone technologies, taking into account the experience of Ukraine, which effectively uses drones in the war against a significantly more resourceful enemy.
At the same time, according to the publication, the development of this sector is constrained by internal political disputes. Despite the fact that Taiwan's parliament approved the purchase of American weapons worth $40 billion, the government-proposed program for financing the development of drones and maritime drones worth $6.59 billion until 2031 has not yet been approved.
According to Defense Express, despite the active discussion of the role of drones in modern warfare and the holding of thematic forums, Taiwan still has to move from discussions to large-scale funding of its own UAV development program.
