Context
Ukrainian singer LELÉKA represented Ukraine at the international song contest this year and placed among the top ten finalists. The artist performed the composition "Ridnym." It became an example of combining modern musical delivery with traditional Ukrainian elements. The use of the bandura as part of the musical composition became one of the recognizable elements of the performance and added a national sound to the song.
In total, Ukraine received 221 points. Most of the support came from the audience: according to the televoting results, the Ukrainian performance gained 167 points. In contrast, the professional jury evaluated the act much more conservatively, awarding only 54 points.
The results indicate a significant difference between the audience and expert scores. It was the viewers' votes that allowed Ukraine to strengthen its position in the final ranking and enter the top ten of the contest.
