Shmyhal reportedly thanked for the support of the opening of negotiations on Ukraine's accession. According to him, Kyiv, for its part, has fulfilled all the necessary conditions for the start of negotiations and expects them to be open by June this year.
"We appreciate, among other things, the preliminary approval of the extension of duty-free imports of Ukrainian goods to the EU. This is very important for the economy of our country," the Prime Minister emphasized.
He also said that Ukraine expects to receive 16 billion euros from the EU under the Ukraine Facility program this year.
According to Shmyhal, EU aid is one of Ukraine's financial anchors.
The issue of a stable source of funding remains extremely important to us. We see great potential in frozen Russian assets that could be confiscated and used to support Ukraine
