The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the advance of Ukrainian troops in two districts of the Kursk region. They announced that they are sending reinforcements.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has admitted that  Ukrainian troops are advancing in two districts of the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. They stated that they had sent reinforcement units and reserves to the region, UNN reports

The Russian Ministry of Defense states that units of the "North" grouping of troops, together with the FSB, continue to "destroy the armed formations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Suzhensky and Korenevsky districts of the Kursk region." 

They say that allegedly with the help of reinforcement units and reserves, "the enemy's advance was prevented." 

They also claim that air strikes are being carried out against "the Ukrainian Armed Forces reserves that are being moved forward on the territory of Sumy region."

According to Russian telegram channels, writes the ASTRA telegram channel, as of the morning of August 8, fighting is already underway in the region "for Korenovo" (30 km from the border with Ukraine).
