"Real" - "Bayern", "Sporting" - "Arsenal" - announcement of the first matches of the Champions League quarter-finals

At the same time, at the Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon, English Arsenal will visit local Sporting.

The Londoners made it to the 1/4 finals thanks to a victory over Bayer Leverkusen - 3:1 on aggregate, while Sporting "smashed" the fairy tale of Norwegian Bodø/Glimt - 5:3 on aggregate.

Arsenal will be without key players in this match, including midfielders Eberechi Eze, Mikel Merino, winger Bukayo Saka, and defenders Piero Hincapié and Jurriën Timber.

Meanwhile, Sporting will be without midfielder Morten Hjulmand, as well as forwards Fotis Ioannidis and Nuno Santos.

Arsenal leads in head-to-head matches against Sporting (2 wins, 3 draws). The last time the teams met was in the fifth round of the Champions League 2024/25, when the "Gunners" won 5:1 in Portugal. Their only two-legged duel in the 1/8 finals of the Europa League 2022/23 ended in favor of the Portuguese in a penalty shootout after two draws.
