Rada creates a new housing base for displaced persons: what will change

The Verkhovna Rada has adopted a law on creating an interactive housing database for IDPs. Displaced persons will be able to choose housing through a public card and apply for accommodation.

The Verkhovna Rada adopted in the second reading a draft law that is aimed at ensuring the housing rights of IDPs and provides for the creation of an information database of real estate objects for IDPs to live in. This is reported by people's deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak, reports UNN.

"The Rada adopted as a whole No. 11281 on ensuring the housing rights of internally displaced persons (creating an information database of real estate objects for the residence of Internally Displaced Persons)," Zheleznyak said.

It is planned to create an information base of habitable housing in the form of a public interactive map, where information about the technical condition of the object, its photos, the number of places to live, the amount of potential investments to bring to a suitable state for living will be available.

IDPs will be able to choose the object where they would like to live, and the authorities will be able to communicate with international organizations to carry out the necessary repairs and put the object into operation.

Internally displaced persons will be able to apply for residence approximately six months after the law comes into force.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved a pilot projectT, according to which internally displaced persons from 9 regions of Ukraine will be able to receive a subsidy for rental housing. A social standard of area for calculating subsidies for rental housing for IDPs has been established - 13.65 square meters per person.
