Poland has offered to supply Ukraine with electricity from its thermal power plants without paying for emissions, seeking approval from the European Commission.
Poland has proposed to the European Commission to supply electricity to Ukraine from its thermal power plants, provided that it does not have to pay for emissions. This is reported by Onet, according to UNN.

According to European Commission spokesman Tim McPhee, this idea was voiced by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk after meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his visit to Warsaw on Monday.
"We are now working on the idea of being able to burn Polish coal, of which we now have a lot, in order not to pay for its burning, that is, for emissions, and to send electricity generated by Polish power plants from Polish coal for European money through the existing energy bridge to Ukraine," Tusk said.
McPhee noted that "the Polish authorities have requested a meeting with the Commission to discuss this issue.
He explained that Poland, as an EU country, is obliged to pay quotas for electricity produced at its power plants and supplied to Ukraine under the ETS rules.
