Petro Poroshenko tried to secretly transfer assets worth UAH 17 billion to his wife in order to avoid sanctions.

Sanctioned People's Deputy Petro Poroshenko tried to circumvent sanctions and maintain control over his most profitable assets by formally renouncing them in favor of his wife, Maryna. This is evidenced by the content of Maryna Poroshenko's lawsuit to the Kryzhopil District Court of Vinnytsia Oblast, filed in March 2025. The court closed the case on the division of property of the Poroshenko couple, but the published documents indicate an attempt to conceal the transfer of assets worth more than UAH 17 billion, - reports "Glavkom".
Thus, according to the publication, in the lawsuit on the division of property, Maryna Poroshenko asked to leave her husband's most valuable assets to her.
Maryna Poroshenko intended to secure the most valuable property that brings a stable significant income for herself. In particular, the lawsuit referred to a controlling stake (8,190 shares or 78.93%; the value of these shares is estimated at UAH 8.33 billion) of the closed non-diversified corporate investment fund "Prime Assets Capital". Petro Poroshenko has been its permanent owner for almost 20 years. The former first lady also claimed millions of her husband's money lying in the accounts of the International Investment Bank and "RVS Bank"
Instead, Petro Poroshenko was to be left with property that does not generate income.
"At Poroshenko's request, Maryna was to leave: a Honda CMX 1100D motorcycle, 2021; a King Trailers GTS443-17.5 semi-trailer, 2001; a Volvo S90 2.0 T8 car, 2021; 93.93% of the share in the authorized capital of Ekran LLC (according to the Youcontrol analytical system, this enterprise has been in the process of termination since February 2016); an unpaid portion of the profit from Sequent Schweiz AG (formerly Rothschild Trust) in the amount of $20 million; UAH 3.19 billion in cash.
Also, the former president was to receive 43 paintings and a sculpture of a long-legged elephant by Salvador Dali (Petro Poroshenko bought it at a Sotheby's auction in New York in 2012 for $338,500). The value of these works of art on the date of Maryna Poroshenko's lawsuit was EUR 100.4 million (more than UAH 4.5 billion)!" - the investigators write.
As a result, the court closed the proceedings, citing the absence of a subject of the dispute and the couple's oral agreement on the division of property. According to the court, the plaintiff did not provide evidence that a peaceful agreement is impossible, and the division itself could be оформлений без залучення суду.
The civil case on the division of the Poroshenko's property caused a resonance, as it appeared against the background of current sanctions against Petro Poroshenko and a number of criminal proceedings. In particular, in April 2025, the oligarch officially became an accused in the case of treason and aiding the activities of terrorist organizations of ORDLO. Also, the National Bank of Ukraine fined the International Investment Bank, controlled by Poroshenko, UAH 20.5 million for violating the law on financial monitoring.
As reported, experts assessed the Poroshenko family's lawsuit as an attempt to circumvent the law and withdraw assets from sanctions. And they noted that the Poroshenko are at risk of being charged with fraud, trying to divide property through the court, without having a real dispute between the couple.
