In Thailand, the number of casualties from a major accident involving a freight train and a public bus in Bangkok has risen – at least 32 people were injured. Eight fatalities have also been confirmed. This was reported by Reuters, according to UNN.

The accident occurred on Saturday near the Makkasan Airport Rail Link station. Following the collision, the bus caught fire, and the flames spread to vehicles located near the railway crossing.
Firefighters and rescuers were dispatched to the scene. According to local authorities, cars and motorcycles were also involved in the accident.
Bus was stuck on the tracks before the collision
Thailand's Deputy Transport Minister Siripong Angkasakulkiat stated that, according to preliminary information, the bus became trapped on the tracks due to a red traffic light, which prevented the barriers from closing.
The freight train, carrying containers, was unable to brake in time and crashed into the bus. As a result of the impact, the vehicle caught fire.

A witness to the event, motorcycle taxi driver Wantong Kokpho, told Reuters that the bus could not leave the crossing due to a traffic jam.
The bus was stuck at a red light, so it couldn't move. Cars were also blocked and could not move forward
