Murder of a military TCC officer in Lviv – customs officer taken into custody without bail

Lychakivskyi District Court of Lviv chose a pre-trial detention measure for 34-year-old Andriy Trush, who is suspected of murdering a TCC serviceman. He was arrested for 60 days without the right to bail, UNN reports.

Context

According to the investigation, the incident occurred on April 1 at about 1:30 p.m. on Paton Street. Military personnel of the territorial recruitment center, together with police officers, were checking documents near one of the stores. A conflict arose during the conversation.

At that moment, the 28-year-old relative of the customs officer, as indicated, began to flee, and the serviceman tried to stop him. According to the investigation, the customs inspector pulled out a knife, caught up with the military man, and inflicted several blows to his chest and neck. One of the blows was fatal.

The suspect himself stated in court that he poorly remembered the events and claimed that he perceived the actions of people in uniform as a threat.

The prosecution insisted on detention due to the risks of escape and influence on witnesses, and the court supported this position.

The deceased was 52-year-old Oleh Avdieiev, a TCC serviceman and former luge athlete who represented Ukraine at the Olympic Games.
