MP Gerega declared a residence permit in Spain and luxury real estate worth UAH 100 million

Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Gerega has had a residence permit in Spain since 2021 and has declared real estate in Spain worth about UAH 100 million registered in his wife's name.

People's Deputy of Ukraine and co-owner of the Epicenter hypermarket chain Oleksandr Hereha indicated in his annual declarations that he has had a long-term residence permit in Spain since 2021. This was reported by Schemes journalists with reference to the State Register of Declarations, UNN reports.    

Details 

It is noted that in declarations for 2021 and 2022, Gerega indicated that both he and his wife Halyna Gerega have a long-term residence permit in Spain. However, the MP did not indicate such a document in his 2020 declaration.

The journalists add that they have asked the MP's press service to inform them on what grounds he received such a residence permit and for what purpose. The editors will publish the answer as soon as they receive it.

In addition, the MP declared several real estate objects in Spain - a residential building and land plots with a total value of about UAH 100 million.

In particular, it is a residential building with an area of 455 square meters and a value of about UAH 3 million, an "isolated dwelling" and a land plot of 3180 square meters, worth more than UAH 62 million, and another "plot with housing" with an area of 1378 square meters and a value of more than UAH 30 million.

All of these properties are registered in the name of the MP's wife, Halyna Hereha. According to her declaration, she has a total of more than 1 million euros on accounts in two Spanish banks in Valencia.

Journalists also found out that from the beginning of the full-scale invasion until May 2023, Oleksandr Gerega spent a total of 209 days abroad.

Earlier, thanks to open access to declarations, journalists found out that Fedir Khrystenko, a member of parliament from the banned in Ukraine OPFL party, settled in Poland after leaving Ukraine in February 2022 and declared ownership of a 176-square-meter apartment in Moscow.

His declaration also lists a rented apartment in Warsaw and three luxury cars.
