More than UAH 3 billion: the Ministry of Economy has calculated the income from small-scale privatization in 2023

Privatization in Ukraine through Prozorro.Sale in 2023 brought in almost UAH 3.3 billion, with 914 objects sold, including 350 state-owned objects. The funds raised replenish the state and local budgets and are used to attract investment.

In 2023, small-scale privatization of state and municipal property in the state electronic trading system Prozorro.Sale replenished budgets of various levels by more than UAH 3.3 billion. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Ministry of Economy.

Details

In total, in 2023, businesses and citizens privatized almost 914 objects across the country. Of these, 350 were state-owned property sold by the SPFU and its regional offices through Prozorro.Sale online auctions.  In addition, 560 are assets sold by communities. 

The proceeds from the privatization of these assets went to the state and local budgets. It is important to note that privatization is not only a one-time revenue for the state or local budgets, but primarily an investment attraction and economic development

CEO of Prozorro.Sale Serhiy But said that this year everything was sold at auctions: factories,  hotels, warehouses, outpatient clinics, and car dealerships. According to him, more than 3.6 thousand participants competed for the right to purchase state and municipal property in 2023.

In 2023, the highest price for privatization of state-owned facilities was paid by the winning bidders for the Hermitage Hotel in Kyiv - UAH 311 million, the Volyntorf UMC - over UAH 212 million, and the Ukroboronresursy UMC - over UAH 210 million. 

Among the communities, Dnipro was the most active in the small-scale privatization market, with 35 successful auctions, followed by Lviv with 32 and Kyiv with 23. The most expensive municipal privatization objects this year are Zhytomyr Regional Cinema Center for UAH 40 million, non-residential premises in Lviv with an area of 550 square meters for over UAH 25 million, and non-residential premises in Zhytomyr region with an area of almost 600 square meters for over UAH 22 million.

Recall

Ukraine will put up for online auction through the Prozorro.Sale system the property under sanctionsand will transfer the proceeds to the fund to overcome the consequences of armed aggression. These auctions will be organized by the State Property Fund.
