8,151 railcars with grain cargo are heading to the ports of Greater Odesa, up almost 700 units from a week ago, with increased daily unloading rates and foreign exchange earnings from exports.

Currently, 8,151 railcars with grain cargo are heading to the ports of Greater Odesa. This is almost 700 units more than a week ago. Such data was provided by Valery Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Commercial Department of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC, UNN reports .

According to him, the average daily rate of railcar unloading in the ports of Greater Odesa also increased over the week. It currently stands at 1230 railcars. In addition, the unloading of grain wagons in the port of Izmail is also showing growth.

Within a week, the volume exceeded 100 railcars per day. In turn, the stockpile increased by 150 cars to 1,075 units.

Since last year, Order No. 19 of the head of the Odesa RMA, Oleh Kiper, has been in effect, prohibiting the export of agricultural products purchased for cash. Initially, the new rules were criticized, but today the situation is showing positive dynamics, Kiper says. Foreign exchange earnings increased from UAH 15 billion to UAH 50 billion.
