The Red Sails kindergarten in Brovary has completed a large-scale renovation of its bomb shelter. The basement was turned into a comfortable shelter with three rooms, toilets and all communications.
The city authorities of Brovary continue to work on arranging high-quality shelters in kindergartens. In particular, large-scale repair work on the arrangement of a bomb shelter has been completed at the Krasni Vіtrila preschool. This was reported by the mayor of Brovary, Ihor Sapozhko, according to UNN.
"Repair work in the shelter was started almost from scratch in the spring of this year. As of today, the repairs are fully completed," said Sapozhko.
According to the director of the institution, Yulia Koval, the premises have undergone dramatic changes.
"A year ago, there was almost knee-deep clay here, and in May of this year, we started repair work and rebuilt everything. You can see for yourself how comfortable and cozy it has become, and the kids love to be here. All communications have been installed, toilets and washbasins have been installed. There are three large main rooms, and the fourth one is being finished. Parents are also happy and thankful, because the result is visible, and this is the most important thing," Koval said.
It is worth noting that the repair of the shelter in the kindergarten was carried out at the expense of the local budget.
The mayor also noted that funding for further improvements to the comfortable stay of children in the kindergarten is already planned. In particular, next year it is planned to repair the entrance group, stairwells, corridors, replace communications, and electrical panels. "So I think the application will be quite large. But the kindergarten is one of the largest in our community, so we will continue to allocate funding for work in this institution," added Sapozhko.

The Brovary community is actively continuing to equip shelters in kindergartens to ensure the safety and comfort of children during air raids. The work is being carried out within the funding allocated by the local authorities and is already showing results.
In particular, in the kindergarten "Country of Childhood" in the village of Trebukhiv, Brovary district, two shelters were equipped - two rooms on each side of the building.
In the Vyshenka kindergarten in Knyazhychi, Brovary district, the work on the shelter is also nearing completion. The bomb shelter there was equipped from scratch.
Recall
In an exclusive interview with UNN, Brovary Mayor Ihor Sapozhko recalled that the villages that became part of the community initially had many problems. In particular, Trebukhiv could not adopt a budget for three years in a row. The village was not developing, problems had been accumulating for years, and they had to be solved. In Knyazhychi, the school had to be closed in winter because of the low temperature and the boiler room had to be quickly fixed.
"These are completely different communities. We have starostas there who express people's opinions, which we listen to, and also make suggestions for the development of these settlements.
We don't have a situation where the city lives its own life and forgets about the three villages that have joined it. These are definitely members of a single community, members of a single family, and I believe that we should develop together," said Ihor Sapozhko.
