SBI officers exposed a large-scale scheme to steal at least 20 tons of fuel from a military unit in Lviv region, UNN reports, citing the SBI.
Details
The organizer of the scheme was the acting head of the unit's fuel and lubricants warehouse. Also involved were the head of the fuel storage facility, two subordinate soldiers, and a local resident who was involved in fuel sales.
The scheme was designed so that the soldiers would pour the fuel into separate containers and take it off the territory of the unit to a private house. The local resident would then look for customers, sell the fuel, and divide the money earned among all the group members.
All of this took place between April and December 2024, with at least 20 tons of fuel being taken out of the unit's territory every month.
Four suspects have already been imposed custody with the possibility of bail - UAH 1.5 million for two suspects and UAH 908 thousand for the others. The court imposed round-the-clock house arrest on another suspect.
