He reminded that Kyiv's centralized heating system is the largest in Ukraine and one of the largest in Europe. Therefore, it takes several days to deploy it and to switch to summer mode.
According to Klitschko, the early completion of the heating season will allow the capital to save energy and not waste natural gas. And residents of city will save money on heating bills.
"Heating systems in health care, culture, physical culture and sports, pre-school and general secondary education, as well as in social service institutions and facilities are turned off upon written requests from their managers," the mayor said.
He also noted that despite the enormous risks and enemy shelling, Kyiv went through the heating season steadily and without disruptions in the operation of life support systems.
