Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise is conducting 11 comprehensive examinations to determine the causes of the F-16 fighter jet's crash. The experts will examine data from the flight data recorders and all technical parameters of the flight.

Experts from the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise (Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise) of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine are conducting research to establish the causes and circumstances of the F-16 fighter jet crash. In particular, experts will study information from the flight data recorders and establish a complete picture of the tragedy. This was stated by the experts of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise in an exclusive commentary to UNN.

The State Bureau of Investigation has appointed 11 comprehensive forensic examinations in the areas of military, engineering, transport, computer and technical research, as well as decoding the information contained in the seized flight data recorder of the said vessel. In the course of the relevant examinations, the technical parameters of the flight, electronic data from onboard instruments, the operation of systems of components and assemblies, the aircraft's compliance with technical requirements and the potential impact of external factors that could have caused the crash, and other indicators and parameters will be established

In addition, experts will decipher information from the flight data recorders to establish the sequence of events and form a complete picture of the tragedy.

The Institute reminded that it has more than 10 years of experience in conducting research on aviation accident investigations, especially in the context of military factors of influence.

At the same time, it should be understood that this process requires maximum accuracy and coordination with international organizations, as well as the use of specialized equipment to analyze critical flight parameters, structural parts, ship control systems, and traces of explosives or damage, etc

KFI added that the duration of expert research and a full investigation into aviation accidents in the EU and the US takes up to several years, depending on the circumstances of the accident and the complexity of the investigation. However, the experts promise that the assigned research on the F-16 fighter jet crash will be carried out by experts as quickly as possible, taking into account all possible details and modern methods.

In addition, to ensure an objective and complete investigation of the plane crash, representatives of the most experienced institutions in the relevant industry were involved in the expert work, providing technical support and additional data on the specifics of this type of aircraft. The experts' conclusions will be submitted to the SBI investigators.

The experts call for refraining from assumptions and spreading speculative comments from unauthorized persons about the causes of the crash. The KFI also expressed condolences to the family and friends of the pilot who died in the crash of the F-16 fighter jet, Oleksiy Mes (Munfish).

An F-16 fighter jet crashed in Ukraine on August 26 , killing an experienced pilot, Colonel Oleksiy "Moonfish" Mes. The causes of the crash are currently under investigation.
