Minister Kuleba made his first ever visit to Mauritius. They discussed support for Ukraine, the Peace Formula and prospects for economic cooperation between the two countries.

On Thursday, August 8, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba held talks with Mauritian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade Manish Gobin in the Mauritian capital Port Louis. This was stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, reports UNN.

The ministry emphasizes that this is the first visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to Mauritius since the establishment of bilateral relations in 1992.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to Mauritius for its consistent support of Ukraine, including voting for important resolutions in the UN General Assembly and recently joining the final communiqué of the Peace Summit.

Kuleba also explained in detail the logic of Ukraine's further steps towards the second Peace Summit and called on Mauritius to take an active part in the implementation of the Peace Formula.

In his turn, Manish Gobin assured of Mauritius' readiness to assist Ukraine in engaging more African countries in the process of restoring a just and lasting peace based on the Peace Formula.

The ministers discussed in detail the deepening of Ukraine's ties with African countries, the development of our country's relations with the African Union, and the prospects for trilateral trade and investment cooperation between Ukraine, Mauritius, and individual African countries.

The Ministers agreed to take further steps in preparation for the conclusion of an agreement on mutual promotion and protection of investments and an agreement on avoidance of double taxation, which will significantly revitalize economic and trade cooperation, help attract investment to Ukraine and its recovery

The ministry adds that the ministers separately discussed the development of trade and investment between Ukraine and Mauritius.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that Mauritius is one of the most successful economies in Africa with the highest GDP at purchasing power parity, ranks first among African countries in the World Bank's Global Competitiveness Report and 13th in the world in terms of ease of doing business.

Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba was received by Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema. Kuleba expressed his belief that Zambia and all of Africa have an important role to play on the road to peace. They also discussed areas where the partnership could be made stronger.
