Iran launched a missile strike on two UAE oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. An Indian citizen was killed, two Ukrainians and six Indians were injured.

Two oil tankers of the United Arab Emirates were hit by a missile strike from Iran in the southern part of the Strait of Hormuz, resulting in the death of one crew member and injuries to eight people, including two Ukrainian citizens. This was reported by CNN, citing the UAE Ministry of Defense, writes UNN.

According to the ministry, the tankers "Al-Bahia" and "Mombasa" were struck while in Oman's territorial waters. The deceased was an Indian citizen who was part of the crew of the tanker "Mombasa." In addition to the two Ukrainians, six Indian citizens were also injured. After the strikes, both vessels caught fire, but the fires have already been contained.
Commercial shipping and the use of the Strait of Hormuz as a tool of pressure or economic blackmail is tantamount to piracy and poses a direct threat to the stability of the region and its peoples, as well as to global energy security
The UAE Ministry of Defense stated that the country is on high alert and ready to respond to any threats to its security. At the same time, the Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attack and expressed condolences to the family of the deceased.
