The NABU and the SAPO have completed an investigation into a lawyer who incited her client to bribe judges of the Sumy Court of Appeal to make a decision in his favor. This was reported by the NABU press service , UNN reports.

According to the investigation, back in 2021, the defense lawyer offered her client a bribe of $4,000 to the panel of judges of the Sumy Court of Appeal and its chairman. In return, they were to overturn the first instance verdict, which sentenced the client to 4 years in prison.
However, after receiving the first installment of the unlawful benefit in the amount of USD 2 thousand. The lawyer was detained "red-handed" after receiving the first installment of the illegal benefit in the amount of USD 2 thousand.
According to the investigation, she did not intend to hand over the money to the judges, but planned to keep it for herself.
Her crime was classified under Part 2 of Article 15, Part 4 of Article 27, Part 3 of Article 369, Part 1 of Article 190.
