In the Sviatoshynskyi district of Kyiv, law enforcement officers have initiated criminal proceedings regarding the abuse of a dog that was thrown from the window of a high-rise building. This was reported by the Kyiv police, according to UNN.

Today, at around 1:00 PM, the police received a report that an unknown person threw a dog from a window of a high-rise building on Chornobylska Street. The animal died on the spot from its injuries,

the report says.

According to preliminary information, a Bichon breed dog was thrown from a window on the sixth floor.

Investigators of the Sviatoshynskyi Police Department have entered the fact into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 3 of Article 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – animal cruelty. The sanction of the article provides for up to 8 years of imprisonment.

Police officers continue to work at the scene and are establishing all the circumstances.
