Hungary will block EU aid to Ukraine due to sanctions against Lukoil - Szijjarto

The Hungarian Foreign Minister announced the blocking of payments from the European Peace Fund to compensate for the supply of weapons to Ukraine. The reason for this was Ukraine's tightening of sanctions against Lukoil, which led to the suspension of Russian oil transit.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said he would block 6.5 billion euros in payments from the European Peace Fund to compensate for arms supplies to Ukraine because of Ukraine's tightening of sanctions against Lukoil, which has halted the transit of Russian oil. Sijjarto said this in an interview with ATV, reports UNN.

Hungary, together with Slovakia, initiated proceedings against Ukraine in the EU for violating the Association Agreement, which states that Ukraine cannot fully or partially interrupt the transit of energy to the EU. The situation is now such that the energy supply of two EU member states, Hungary and Slovakia, is threatened by Ukrainians, because 33% of our crude oil imports and approximately 40-45% of Slovakia's crude oil imports come from Lukoil, from Russia through Ukraine
In his opinion, the European Commission is now in a difficult situation because Ukraine is allegedly breaking the association agreement with the EU.
I made it clear that until this issue is resolved by Ukraine, everyone should forget about paying 6.5 billion euros in compensation for the supply of weapons from the European Peace Fund
