Kyiv • UNN
The President of Ukraine has identified key tasks for diplomats for the next year. The priorities include work on NATO, sanctions against Russia and achieving a just peace by 2025.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Ukrainian diplomats on their professional holiday and emphasized the importance of their work for the country. This was reported by UNN with reference to the President's speech.
Details
The President of Ukraine said that there are hundreds of areas of relations in the world in which Ukraine needs real, concrete, tangible results. And this is the work of our diplomats.
“To be in all the necessary offices, to be in the media, to be in communication with all the people necessary for Ukraine and to be understood - so that Ukraine has what it needs,” Zelensky said.
He added that Ukraine managed to become stronger this year, managed to get closer to the goal that unites all our people.
“We need to defeat the occupier,” the president said.
Zelensky thanked the diplomats who work for the country's results, not just for the gratitude of the leadership or to fulfill formal duties:
“To be an ambassador of Ukraine, to be a Ukrainian diplomat, is to be a person who can answer the question of what exactly you have done to bring peace to us, to protect the interests of Ukraine and Ukrainians.
Zelensky said that the next year will be key in terms of this particular task.
“We must do everything to make 2025 a year of just peace for Ukraine,” Zelensky said.
He also noted that it is very important that the work on NATO is not done in a cubicle. And sanctions against Russia should work as long as we need them to.
Recall
The day before, Zelenskyy signed decrees dismissing Ukrainian ambassadors to Rwanda, Kenya, Slovenia, China, Indonesia, Japan, and Lithuania.
At the same time, the president appointed new ambassadors there.
