Good news regarding the next exchanges should be expected "very, very soon" — DIU

Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine and deputy head of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, said that a new prisoner exchange could take place "very, very soon," reports UNN

Details

Answering a question about when to expect good news about the exchange, Yusov replied: "Very, very soon. Soon we will be able to say that some number of Russians will go in exchange, and our guys will return home."

Yusov added that Russia is a country that deliberately committed an act of aggression, that is, a violation of the UN Charter, noting that it disregards international humanitarian law and international law in general.

"Every exchange is a difficult negotiating process; it is a complicated special operation during which the enemy regularly attempts to conduct disinformation campaigns, influence Ukrainian society and the relatives of prisoners, and even use such a sensitive issue in its own political interests as an element of hybrid warfare. Nevertheless, we see the results. Exchanges are continuing. More than 70 exchanges have been carried out since the beginning of the full-scale invasion," Yusov said.

On August 19, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on another exchange and the return home from Russian captivity of 103 Ukrainian soldiers.
