Georgia condemns holding of russian elections in occupied Georgian regions

Tbilisi has condemned russia for illegally holding presidential elections in the occupied Georgian regions and opening polling stations there, which violates Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia has condemned the holding of the presidential elections in the occupied regions of the country and the illegal opening of polling stations there. This was reported by UNN with reference to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ministry emphasized that holding any elections in the occupied territories is illegal under the occupation, which is recognized, including by international courts.

In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia appealed to the international community to properly assess and respond to russia's further illegal actions in the occupied regions.

Earlier, the French Foreign Ministry said it condemned russia's establishment of polling stations in the separatist regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetiaand in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova without the consent of the Georgian and Moldovan authorities.
