The former head coach of the Ukrainian national football team, Mykhailo Fomenko, who was 75 years old and an honorary citizen of Sumy, dies.
On April 29, former head coach of the Ukrainian national team Mykhailo Fomenko, who was 75 years old, died. Fomenko was also an honorary citizen of the city of Sumy. UNN reports this with reference to the Football Association of Sumy Region.
"A legend has passed away today. Mykhailo Fomenko has died," the Sumy Oblast Football Association said in a statement.
It is also noted that an entire era of Ukrainian and world football has passed away with Mykhailo Ivanovych.

Mykhailo Fomenko was the former head coach of the Ukrainian national team (2012-2016). He played for Dynamo Kyiv and the USSR national team .
Fomenko was an international master of sports, Honored Master of Sports of the USSR. After his playing career, he coached Ukrainian and foreign clubs. Fomenko holds the titles of Honored Coach of Ukraine and Georgia, Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine, and Honorary Citizen of Sumy.
