The return took place within the framework of the Bring Kids Back UA plan. Among those rescued are children from Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia, who will be provided with the necessary assistance.
Ukraine has rescued five more children from the occupation with the help of Qatar, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets said on Telegram on Saturday, UNN writes.
It was possible to return five Ukrainian children from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. This happened with the mediation of an unchanging partner - the State of Qatar. The return was carried out within the framework of the implementation of the approved action plan of the President of Ukraine Bring Kids Back UA. The age of the children is from 11 to 16 years. They were returned from the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia regions
According to him, among those returned is a 12-year-old girl whose parents are divorced and the child's father is a prisoner of the aggressor country. "During the three years of the full-scale invasion, the girl changed her place of residence twice and had conflicts with her mother. The minor's mental and physical health has deteriorated significantly over the past year. Fortunately, we helped the grandmother to obtain custody of the girl. In the future, the child will be provided with all the necessary assistance," the Ombudsman noted.
Also, according to him, among the returned children is a boy from the temporarily occupied territory who lived with his father, but was systematically subjected to ill-treatment by him. "Despite the facts of physical violence against the child, the "local" social services were in no hurry to help the child. The mother tried to take the boy out on her own, but the attempts were unsuccessful. And only thanks to the appeal to our Office and the involvement of the unchanging predecessor of the State of Qatar, the mother and her son were reunited," Lubinets said.
