European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Marta Kos visited the sites of Russian strikes in Kyiv. During the visit, she was shown the consequences of the massive attack on May 24, which claimed the lives of civilians and caused significant destruction of civilian infrastructure. This was reported by the Vice Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba, according to UNN.

According to the minister, the delegation visited the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital, which was one of the most affected during the Russian attack. In particular, they inspected a residential building on Dehtiarivska Street, which was hit by a Russian Kh-101 missile.

"It was here that a Russian Kh-101 missile hit a residential building on Dehtiarivska Street, taking the lives of three people. More than 20 other residents were injured," Kuleba reported.

Representatives of Ukraine and the European Union also visited Lukyanivka, where a market, residential buildings, and a metro station were damaged as a result of missile strikes.

The minister noted that on that night, Russia launched over 50 missiles and up to 700 drones of various types at Ukraine. In Kyiv alone, damage was recorded at 66 locations.

During the meeting, Kuleba told the European Commissioner about the support for citizens whose housing was damaged or destroyed as a result of Russian attacks.

"In the Shevchenkivskyi district alone, after the recent attacks, over 700 applications for damaged housing and about 30 for completely destroyed housing have been submitted to the state program eRecovery," he noted.

Kuleba emphasized that it is important for Ukraine to demonstrate to international partners not only the scale of destruction but also the state's ability to recover even under conditions of constant attacks.

"It is important for us that our partners see not only the scale of destruction but also how Ukraine is capable of recovering even under the conditions of daily attacks," the minister stressed.

He also thanked the European Union for its support of Ukraine and personally thanked Marta Kos for her visit to Kyiv and her attention to the needs of Ukrainian communities.
