At the same time, they will express "serious concern" about the latest events in Georgia amid the brutal suppression of anti-government protests and the decision of the Georgian Dream party to stop the country's accession to the EU until 2018.

"The European Council strongly condemns violence against peaceful protesters. The Georgian authorities must respect the right to freedom of Assembly and expression and refrain from the use of force. All acts of violence must be investigated and those responsible brought to justice," the document says.
