Entry into the private sector and challenges through AI: Head of the Federation of Trade Unions spoke about the change in strategy

FPU Head Serhiy Byzov announced work with the private sector and the CEO Club. The new strategy for the development of the trade union movement focuses on partnership with business and challenges related to the development of AI.
The Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine is changing its strategy, focusing on working with the private sector and preparing for new challenges in the labor market, particularly those related to the development of artificial intelligence. Serhiy Byzov, head of the FPU, spoke about this in an interview, UNN writes.
We are changing the strategy of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine itself. I personally headed the commission on this strategy. It contains key things that have never been applied before.
One of the key directions will be active work not only with the state sector, but also with private business, which, according to the head of the FPU, is a new challenge for both trade unions and entrepreneurs.
Serhiy Byzov emphasized that the new model envisages partnership relations between employee and employer, based on collective agreements and mutual responsibility.
This is an honest agreement that a socially responsible businessman and a socially responsible employee enter into. Therefore, in this form, we get: you (as an employer - ed.) in my person (as an employee - ed.) get a dedicated employee who is ready to develop, with moral and business qualities, who is ready to be added value by his own example for other employees. I (as an employee - ed.) in your person (as an employer - ed.) see my social partner who keeps his word of honor regarding responsibility to my family, which I feed from this salary.
At the same time, the Federation already has the first successful cases of working in new areas for trade unions. In particular, a primary organization was created at the Rivne Amber Plant, which included about 600 employees. In addition, negotiations are underway with representatives of large businesses regarding the involvement of their employees in the trade union movement. The FPU also cooperates with business associations in this direction, in particular CEO Club Ukraine.
Special attention in the new strategy is paid to the impact of artificial intelligence development on the labor market. According to Serhiy Byzov, AI can significantly transform the sphere of labor relations.
We are already developing our role, our mission where, with the advent of artificial intelligence... and we understand that all the problems that exist in the country today, regarding labor, labor protection, everything else, these will all be trifles when artificial intelligence engulfs the world. Therefore, when I spoke about this at the commission, many were surprised, many did not even understand why we were talking about it. But this is our tomorrow.
In conclusion, Byzov emphasized that updating approaches to trade union work is a necessary condition for their development and effective protection of workers' rights in the modern economy.
