Electricity consumption in Ukraine has increased by 3.7% due to lower temperatures. The country has blackout schedules from 14:00 to 20:00, and 67 settlements are without power due to the weather.

Electricity consumption in Ukraine is growing due to lower air temperatures, and 67 settlements in two regions are without power due to bad weather. The blackout schedules will be applied from 14:00 to 20:00, Ukrenergo reported on Monday, UNN reports.

Details

"Consumption is growing. Today, November 25, as of 6:00 a.m., its level was 3.7% higher than at the same time on the previous business day - Friday, November 22. This is due to a drop in air temperature in most regions of Ukraine," the statement said.

It is noted that "now the Ukrainian power system continues to recover from ten massive attacks by Russians, it still has a significant power shortage."

"In order to balance the power system, hourly outage schedules are in effect in all regions from 14:00 to 20:00 today. The situation in the power system is changing, and accordingly, changes in the application of restrictive measures are possible," Ukrenergo said.

When the power comes on according to the schedule, the National Grid asks that several powerful electrical appliances not be turned on at the same time.

Bad weather

Due to severe weather conditions - heavy rain, snow and wind - 67 settlements in Chernihiv and Sumy regions were cut off from electricity in the morning. Emergency restoration works are ongoing, and the power company plans to restore power to the de-energized customers by the end of the day.
