"Don't speak for Great Britain" - Trump sharply responded to Prince Harry's call regarding Ukraine

US President Donald Trump criticized Prince Harry, stating that he "does not speak for Great Britain" after the Duke of Sussex's comments regarding the US administration during a surprise visit to Ukraine, writes UNN with reference to Sky News.

The US President also stated that he "speaks more for Great Britain than for Prince Harry" after the King's son called on Washington to fulfill its obligations amid Russia's war against Ukraine.

Speaking at the Kyiv Security Forum on Thursday, Harry, who was on his third trip to Ukraine since the start of the war in 2022, insisted that he was "not here as a politician" but as a "humanitarian worker" and "a soldier who understands service."

He called on American leadership to uphold its "obligations under international treaties" in what he called "the unchanging role of the US in global security," although he did not mention Trump by name.

The Duke of Sussex said: "The United States plays a special role in this story. Not only because of its power, but also because when Ukraine gave up nuclear weapons, America became part of the guarantee that Ukraine's sovereignty and borders would be respected."

"This is a moment for American leadership, a moment for America to show that it can fulfill its obligations under international treaties – not out of charity, but because of its unchanging role in global security and strategic stability," he said.

Prince Harry? How is he doing? How is his wife? Please give her my regards. I know one thing: Prince Harry does not speak for Great Britain, that's for sure

- Trump said in response to a journalist's question about Prince Harry saying that the US president should do more to end the war in Ukraine.

Addition

Trump's criticism of Harry came days before the King is due to arrive in the US for a state visit to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence.

Charles and Queen Camilla will embark on a four-day trip on Monday, during which they will meet with the US President and First Lady.

The visit will also include an address by Charles to Congress, a state dinner, and events marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

Trump, who has been highly critical of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and the British government regarding the war with Iran in recent weeks, said that the royal family's visit could "absolutely" improve relations between the two countries.

He previously criticized the British Prime Minister, saying that "we are not dealing with Winston Churchill," after Starmer initially refused to allow the US access to British military bases at the beginning of the conflict in the Middle East.

Speaking to a Sky News correspondent in the US earlier this month, Trump described British immigration policy as "insane" and complained about the "sad" state of the US's special relationship with Great Britain.
