Bolem Buchibu, who worked on Ratatouille and Lilo and Stitch, was convicted of child sexual abuse. The designer organized the crimes in the Philippines and pleaded guilty in court.

Bolem Buchiba , the creator of the beloved cartoons Superfamily, Ratatouille, and Lilo and Stitch, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for his rather “track record” of rape, sexual abuse of minors, human trafficking, systematic viewing of child pornography, and torture.

Buhalem is a renowned animator who has made a significant contribution to many popular projects at Disney and Pixar studios. His most notable works include animation in the films The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Tarzan, and The Incredibles.

He was also one of the lead animators on Lilo and Stitch and Ratatouille, and contributed to scenes for DreamWorks' How to Train Your Dragon.

The investigation against the “star” graphic designer began when the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation noticed suspicious money transfers.

Since Tuesday last week, 59-year-old Buchibu has been in prison in Paris. Investigators found that between 2012 and 2021, he paid Filipino women to rape and sexually abuse Filipino girls aged 5 to 10.

It also emerged that on at least one occasion he masturbated to a 2-year-old girl, in front of a live webcam. On the other side of the screen, Buchibu gave her orders that he himself described as “horrible and disgusting.

In 2014, he was convicted of sexually abusing his 9-year-old stepdaughter. His name was added to the Fijian sex offender registry.

During the interrogation, the defendant spontaneously pleaded guilty to “all charges” against him and emphasized the “advantages of prison” in the process of his redemption.

“For three years I haven't masturbated thinking about a child,” Buchibu said .

On Thursday evening, he was sentenced to twenty-five years in prison. He will serve two-thirds of his sentence for complicity in the rape and sexual assault of several hundred Filipino girls.

After more than six hours of deliberation, the jury found Bolem Buchiba guilty of complicity in the rape and sexual abuse of minors as a repeat offender.

He was also found guilty of complicity in aggravated human trafficking involving minors and systematic viewing of child pornography on the Internet.

The court upheld the aggravating circumstance of torture and barbarism, which the prosecutor's office had brought forward in relation to complicity in rape, sexual violence and human trafficking.

The Paris court also handed down a twenty-year suspended sentence, an obligation to pay compensation to civil parties, and a permanent ban on working with minors.

In court, Bolem Buchibu confessed: “Pedophilia is in me”.
