Kyiv's Pecherskyi Court has remanded former acting head of the Defense Ministry's procurement department Maksym Hrytsenko in custody with a possibility of bail in the amount of UAH 50 million. He is suspected of unreasonably reducing fines from UAH 98 million to UAH 4.5 million.

The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv has remanded in custody with the possibility of bail in the amount of UAH 50 million the former acting head of the Defense Ministry's procurement department, Maksym Hrytsenko, who "wrote off" almost UAH 94 million in penalties to a Lviv businessman for overdue contracts. This was reported by UNN with reference to the State Bureau of Investigation.

"At the request of the State Bureau of Investigation, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv imposed a measure of restraint in the form of detention on one of the former directors of the Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The court set bail in the amount of UAH 50 million as an alternative," the SBI said.

According to UNN's sources , this is the former acting procurement department of the Ministry of Defense, Maksym Hrytsenko.

As for the Lviv businessman, the Bureau does not name him, but it is clear from the context that it is Ihor Hrynkevych.

The former director of the Defense Ministry's department has been served with a notice of suspicion of abuse of office. He is suspected of having unreasonably reduced penalties from UAH 98 million to UAH 4.5 million for overdue contracts for the supply of military clothing.
