The Polish border has seen an increase in passenger traffic entering Ukraine. In July, the number of people entering may exceed the number of people leaving by 10-15 thousand people a day.

On weekdays, about 120 thousand people cross the border with Poland in both directions, and on weekends, the number of border crossings can reach 140-150 thousand people per day in both directions. Since the beginning of the summer season, the majority of border crossings have been for people leaving Ukraine, but in July, passenger traffic may be dominated by people entering Ukraine. This was stated by the spokesman of the State Border Guard Service Andriy Demchenko during a telethon, UNN reports.

Details

The Polish border still accounts for the largest passenger traffic. If we talk about passengers, it is about 50%, but we have not recorded any significant queues recently. Although the passenger traffic remains quite high. On weekdays, it is about 120 thousand people in both directions, if we talk about the entire section of the state border where border crossing operations are carried out, and on weekends, the number of border crossings can reach 140-150 thousand people per day in both directions. In July, passenger traffic may be dominated by people entering Ukraine, as since the beginning of the summer season, the preference has been for people leaving for Ukraine. Over the past day, passenger traffic fluctuated 50-50 - 60 thousand for departure, 60 thousand for entry

- Demchenko said.

He added that on some days, the preference may go to entering Ukraine, with 10-15 thousand more people crossing to enter than to leave.

Demchenko, commenting on the detention of 48 men in a KAMAZ on the border with Moldova, said that there are not many such cases, as most attempts to illegally cross the border are recorded by small groups of 2-3 people.
