The leader of the CDU/CSU faction in the Bundestag says there is a possibility that Ukraine will be supplied with Taurus long-range missiles, and the German Foreign Minister warns against public discussions on the topic.
First parliamentary secretary of the CDU/CSU faction in the German Bundestag Torsten Fry said there is a chance for the supply of long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine. UNN reports this with reference to the German news channel N-tv.
We've seen discussions like the one around Taurus, for example, when it came to infantry fighting vehicles and then battle tanks. And in that respect, I just expect this government to be able to get wiser as well
The politician also does not expect negotiations with Moscow on a diplomatic settlement of the war.
"At the moment, I don't see any starting point for a diplomatic path. I am very sorry about that. But all we are experiencing now is Russian aggression. And only Russia is in control of it. If Russia stopped sending bombs, missiles and cruise missiles to Ukraine, the war would be over today," Frye emphasized.
In his turn, German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock warns against continuing public discussions about German long-range Taurus cruise missiles, which Ukraine had previously requested.

Ukraine, according to German media, requested missiles with a range of 500 kilometers from Germany last May. Scholz first explicitly rejected the request in October and then several times this year. Scholz rejects the supply of Taurus missiles to Ukraine because he fears that it could draw Germany into a war.
