The signatories again condemned Russia's permanent military presence in the occupied regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which violates international law, as well as Russia's obligations under the six-point agreement of August 12, 2008.
Russia's continued militarization of Georgia's occupied territories poses a serious threat to Georgia's security and to regional and European stability
It is noted that the agreement on deepening the alliance and cooperation, signed on May 9 between Moscow and the de facto authorities of South Ossetia, further violates Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, constituting a clear breach of international law.
This document, as well as the appointment of a Russian citizen as head of the region, raise concerns about the possible full-scale annexation of the region, which will not go unanswered
They called on Russia to comply with the ECHR's judgment and welcomed the decision of the Republic of Nauru, which withdrew its recognition of the "independence" of the separatist entities, and called on states that had established diplomatic relations with these entities to follow suit.
