Brigadier General Volodymyr Shvedyuk is appointed as the new Commander of the Operational Command "West" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Brigadier General Volodymyr Shvedyuk has been appointed commander of the troops of the operational command "West". This was reported on the Facebook page of the command, UNN reports.

I am very grateful for the trust of the command, which entrusted me with this responsible mission. It is a great honor and privilege, and I understand that it entails a great responsibility to you, to our military units and to Ukraine,

He noted that the core of the operational command West is a large number of experienced officers ready to overcome any difficulties.

"And I believe that your potential as a team will achieve even greater success," he said.

The general said that he strives to make the West Command a model of military excellence and tactical skill.

"Together, we will strengthen our defense capabilities and demonstrate our unwavering commitment to protecting our country. We have no choice but to win. And we will do it ," he said.

Shvediuk Volodymyr Petrovych is a Ukrainian serviceman, promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in June 2022.

Until March 22, he was the Deputy Commander of the Forces of the Joint Forces Operation, from March 22, he was the Chief of Staff of the Joint Forces Group

He participated in the Russian-Ukrainian war and repulsion of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

He was born on June 23, 1969, in Vinnytsia region, in the family of a military man.

He took a direct part in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. In April 2015, he was appointed Chief of Staff - First Deputy Commander of the 59th Separate Mechanized Infantry Brigade.
