The European Union believes that Ukraine should decide when to sit down at the negotiating table with Russia and on what terms. This was stated by High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell during a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga, UNN reports.
"There are different ways to achieve peace, but a just and lasting, sustainable peace is important. Our position here is clear: Ukraine must decide when to sit down at the negotiating table and on what terms. We, the European Union, are on your side," Borrell said.
He emphasized that the Russian dictator Putin does not want to negotiate and will not negotiate unless he is forced to do so.
"We see it in his barbaric actions, it's a fact of life, proven by his behavior," Borrell emphasized.
