Australia reopens its embassy in Ukraine

The foreign ministers of Ukraine and Australia announce the reopening of the embassy in Kyiv. Australia provides $880 million in military aid, including Abrams tanks and boats.

The Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Australia, Andriy Sibiga and Penny Wong, have announced the reopening of the Australian Embassy in Kyiv. UNN reports this with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Penny Wong today  paid the first bilateral visit to Ukraine by an Australian foreign minister in a decade.  The ministers agreed to reopen the Australian Embassy in Ukraine. According to Sibiga,  this step will further strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Sibiga also asked for additional military support, including Australian Bushmaster armored vehicles, and offered to take Ukraine's needs into account when writing off military equipment in Australia's service.

It is noted that the total amount of Australian aid has already exceeded  1 billion dollars, of which 880 million is military aid.
