Applications for the "Schoolchild's Package" payment have opened in Ukraine

Ukraine has begun accepting applications for a one-time payment of 5,000 hryvnias under the "Schoolchild's Package" program for children entering first grade in 2026–2027. Applications are accepted through Diia or at the Pension Fund until November 1, 2026.

In Ukraine, applications have opened for the state aid program “Schoolchild’s Package.” Parents of future first-graders can receive a one-time payment of 5,000 hryvnias for each child who will enter the first grade in the 2026–2027 academic year in territory controlled by Ukraine. This is reported by the Pension Fund of Ukraine, according to UNN.

Parents of future first-graders can now apply for the one-time financial assistance “Schoolchild’s Package” of 5,000 hryvnias for each child enrolled in the first grade. If a family has two first-graders, the payment is made for each of them
Who is eligible for the payment
Parents, adoptive parents, or other legal representatives of children who will enter the first grade in territory of Ukraine controlled by Ukraine in the 2026–2027 academic year are eligible for the payment.
How to apply for the payment?
You can submit an application online through the “Diia” app according to the following procedure:
- Log in to the Diia app;
- Open the “Assistance from the state” service;
- Select “Schoolchild’s Package”;
- Select the details of the child who is entering the first
grade;
- Proceed to submit the application;
- Select a Diia.Card with an opened special-purpose account “Care for the Child” to receive the assistance. If you do not have one yet,
open a Diia.Card at one of the authorized banks;
- Check the details and sign the application with Diia.Signature.
You can also apply in person at any service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine. The application must include, in particular, the details of a current account with a special-purpose regime of use, opened at an authorized bank.
When applying, one of the parents or the child’s legal representative must also present:
- a passport (or another identity document);
- the taxpayer registration number
— TRN (if available);
- documents confirming the authority of the legal
representative (if necessary).
If the Pension Fund of Ukraine is unable to obtain other documents (a birth certificate, marriage certificate, court decision, etc.) through electronic information exchange, they must be submitted in paper form
Applications can be submitted until November 1, 2026.
What can the money from the “Schoolchild’s Package” be spent on?
The one-time financial assistance is provided exclusively in non-cash form to an account with a special-purpose regime of use. It may be used to purchase books, stationery, school clothing, shoes, or supplies. The funds must be used within 12 months from the date they are credited to the account
The Pension Fund also emphasizes that all previously opened accounts with a special-purpose regime of use remain fully valid — they do not need to be reissued.
