An assassination attempt on the head of a drone manufacturer for Ukraine was foiled in Germany

German intelligence services thwarted an assassination attempt against Stefan Tumann, head of Donaustahl, a company that manufactures drones for Ukraine. Two suspects, citizens of Ukraine and Romania, were detained on suspicion of cooperating with Russian intelligence services.

According to the publication, German intelligence services managed to thwart the assassination attempt thanks to warnings received from partner Western intelligence agencies.
In the spring, police detained two suspects whom Die Zeit identifies as Serhii K. and Alla S. The German Federal Public Prosecutor's Office charged them with activities on behalf of a foreign intelligence service. Their lawyers declined to comment.
The company's head is under heightened security
According to Die Zeit, after the plot was uncovered, Stefan Tumann was placed under heightened state protection.
The publication notes that this is not the first case in which Russia has been suspected of preparing an assassination attempt against the head of a German defense company.
Donaustahl is one of the drone manufacturers, while Germany remains one of the key suppliers of military aid to Ukraine, having provided Kyiv, among other things, with thousands of drones and Leopard tanks.
