"Almost 200 fires with a total area of about 120 hectares occurred in the natural ecosystems of Ukraine over the past day. In particular, dry grass, forest, garbage, and fields were burning in 17 regions," the SES said on social media.

The most difficult situation is reportedly in Dnipropetrovs'k region - 57 fires (covering 46.57 hectares), Kharkiv region - 25 fires (covering 10.3 hectares) and Zaporizhzhia region - 21 fires (covering 3.97 hectares).

Emergency responders extinguished the fire, but there is still a lot of work to be done to eliminate the consequences of the fire, the agency said.

"Remember: even a small fire in dry and windy weather can cause a large-scale fire that will harm not only the environment but also people! Do not let the fire destroy what you have built and nurtured for years!" - the SES emphasized.
