The incident took place on May 1 in the vicinity of the city of Leszno in the Greater Poland Voivodeship. Six people were performing jumps from an aircraft at an altitude of about 4,000 meters.
The equipment of all participants functioned and opened; however, during landing, one of the skydivers hit the ground too hard. Despite the efforts of medics, he could not be resuscitated. It is reported that the deceased was a 39-year-old man from near Wrocław.
A prosecutor is working at the scene. The State Commission on Aircraft Accidents Investigation has been notified of the incident and, together with other services, will determine the causes of the tragedy.
