Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the European Union leadership for approving a support package of 90 billion euros and a new sanctions package against Russia. According to the head of state, the EU's decision is an important signal of support for Ukraine and all of Europe.
"We are very grateful for the great progress today – a 90 billion support package and a sanctions package. This is also a very strong signal," Zelenskyy said.
The President emphasized that Ukraine will work to ensure that the funds are received as soon as possible.
"We will work to ensure that these funds are delivered as soon as possible. This is important for us," he noted.

According to Zelenskyy, the funding will strengthen the country's defense capabilities and prepare for the next winter.
"This will strengthen our army, Ukrainian forces, allow us to increase production, enhance air defense efforts, and better protect our energy system in winter," the president emphasized.
Separately, the head of state noted that Ukraine, together with its partners, will continue to pressure Russia to end the war through diplomatic means.
"Together we will solve many issues regarding the protection of lives. And, of course, we will continue to work to push Russia towards true diplomacy to end this war," Zelenskyy said.
At the end of his speech, he personally thanked Ursula von der Leyen and António Costa for their support of Ukraine.
"This is a great day," the president concluded.
