In the US, influential Democratic senators have publicly opposed President Donald Trump's decision to again suspend American sanctions against Russian oil for a month. This is reported by The Guardian, writes UNN.

The move came yesterday, two days after US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the Trump administration would not extend the previous waiver, which expired on April 11.
In a joint statement, leading Democratic senators, including Chuck Schumer of New York, Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, and Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, condemned the "180-degree reversal" and called it "shameful."
They stated:
"This week, Putin launched the largest air attack on Ukraine since the beginning of the year, killing 18 people, and the administration's response was another easing of sanctions against the Kremlin. What message does this send?
Make no mistake: Putin has been one of the main beneficiaries of President Trump's war against Iran, as Russia's oil revenues almost doubled in March. Enough. President Trump must stop letting Putin deceive him and impose additional sanctions against Putin, who clearly does not feel enough pressure from this president."
