Palestine receives first batch of aid under the Grain from Ukraine program

Ukraine has sent 1000 tons of wheat flour to Palestine as part of the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian program. In total, it is planned to deliver more than 7,000 tons of flour and 750 tons of oil to help families in the Gaza Strip.

Palestine has received grain shipments as part of the humanitarian program "Grain from Ukraine," the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, and the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday, UNN reports.

"President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Grain From UA initiative, in cooperation with WFP, has sent the first of three shipments to Palestine, which will provide food aid to more than 100,000 families caught in the middle of the conflict between Israel and Hamas," Yermak wrote on Telegram.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a ship with 1,000 tons of wheat flour arrived from Ukraine to Palestine to provide urgent assistance to those suffering from food shortages. In total, Palestine will receive 7,000 tons of wheat flour and 750 tons of oil.

"A vessel carrying 1,000 tons of wheat flour for Palestine arrived from Turkey to Jordan as part of the Grain from Ukraine initiative and has already been delivered to the Gaza Strip. This shipment was the first delivery to Palestine under this initiative. Other ships are scheduled to depart in the coming months. In total, Ukraine plans to deliver more than 7,000 tons of wheat flour to Gaza under the initiative with the support of donors, including Norway, Austria, Estonia, France and Iceland," Yermak said.

"Despite Russia's aggression and intensification of its attacks, Ukraine continues to demonstrate its commitment and leadership in supporting countries at risk of famine," the Foreign Ministry emphasized.
