Yulia Svyrydenko discussed energy protection from ballistic missiles in the US Congress. The parties agreed to strengthen financial and sanctions pressure on Russia.

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko discussed in the US the importance of maintaining and strengthening support for Ukraine, particularly in the areas of security, financial assistance, and sanctions pressure on Russia. Svyrydenko announced this on Telegram, as reported by UNN.

Bipartisan support for Ukraine in the US Congress is incredibly important for our country. At meetings with the Senate and Congressional Ukraine Caucuses, I expressed gratitude for their consistent assistance and unwavering stance. We discussed the importance of maintaining and strengthening support for Ukraine – particularly in the areas of security, financial assistance, and sanctions pressure on Russia. We outlined Ukraine's key defense needs; our priority now is countering Russian ballistic missiles. Our ability to get through the next winter, protect our people, and our energy sector depends on this.

- Svyrydenko wrote.

According to her, Ukraine seeks a just and lasting peace, and one of the key tools for achieving peace is increased pressure on Russia.

Sanctions are already reducing the potential of the Russian war machine – and this pressure must only increase. It is critically important to limit the supply of components for weapons production and consistently reduce Russia's revenues from oil and gas exports – this is what gradually weakens Russia's ability to wage war. At the same time, Ukraine offers partners the most modern defense solutions and unique military experience in their application. These are technologies created to counter modern warfare, they are tested in real combat conditions and are constantly being improved. Global security today needs precisely such Ukrainian solutions.

- Svyrydenko added.

She added that she is grateful to every congressman and congresswoman who supports Ukraine and contributes to achieving a just and lasting peace.
