An 18-year-old native of the Cherkasy region recorded the consequences of shelling and the movement of equipment for money. The court remanded the suspect in state treason into custody.

An 18-year-old Russian agent who coordinated Russian strikes on the capital during the massive attack on May 24 was detained in Kyiv. The young man was notified of suspicion of high treason under martial law, and the court remanded him in custody. This was reported by Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, according to UNN.

While Kyiv was recovering from another Russian drone and missile attack, the 18-year-old native of Cherkasy region was working for the enemy: recording the consequences of the strikes, transmitting information about hits, and helping to adjust further attacks. He was detained near one of the Ministry of Defense facilities in the capital. Correspondence with handlers, geolocations, photos, and videos of the shelling consequences were found on his phone

- Kravchenko reported.

According to the investigation, in mid-May, the young man was looking for a part-time job via Telegram. Initially, he received a supposedly "ordinary" task: to photograph goods in competitors' stores.

Then, as a test task, he was instructed to film the terrain and mark the movement of military equipment in the suburbs on maps. And on May 24, the day of the massive attack on Kyiv, the handlers gave specific addresses to record the consequences of the strikes

- Kravchenko added.

According to him, the correspondence shows how Russian representatives coordinated his every step in real-time: monitoring his movement via geolocation, demanding photos from different angles, and clarifying the results of the hits.

"Well, don't be disappointed, I'll pay you anyway regardless of whether there was something there or not," the handler wrote to the perpetrator. Later, after identifying damage to a neighboring building, he also added: "Well, film there too. But the building first. Maybe they got it mixed up." For the enemy, this is "content," "coordinates," and "work results." For Ukrainians, it means people's lives, destroyed homes, and further evidence of complicity in the war against their own state

- Kravchenko added.

As the Prosecutor General reported, the 18-year-old suspect has been notified of suspicion of high treason under martial law. The court chose a preventive measure for him: detention without the right to post bail.

Comprehensive measures were carried out through the coordinated efforts of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, the SBU, and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense (GUR).

I want to specifically draw attention to this: Russian special services are increasingly looking for perpetrators among the youth. Through Telegram, "easy money," simple tasks, and the psychology of "it's just a photo." But the finale is always the same: working for the enemy and criminal liability for high treason. There is no "easy money" here. There is only complicity in directing Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities. And for this, there will be the most severe responsibility – from 15 years of imprisonment to life in prison. We continue our work

- Kravchenko concluded.
