"On the night of June 12, 2026, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the 'TANECO' and 'TAIF-NK' oil refineries in Nizhnekamsk, Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation. Hits on targets and fires on the territory of both enterprises have been confirmed," the General Staff stated.
The "TANECO" oil refining complex is noted to be one of the largest oil refining enterprises in the Russian Federation. Its design processing capacity exceeds 16 million tons of oil per year. The enterprise produces a wide range of fuels and lubricants, including diesel fuel, aviation fuel, and other petroleum products.
As indicated, the "TAIF-NK" enterprise is a large oil refining complex characterized by an extremely high depth of oil refining (after the launch of the Heavy Residue Deep Conversion Complex, this figure is declared at over 95%). The enterprise processes heavy high-sulfur oil and gas condensate. The plant's products are divided into several key segments—from mass-market fuel to specific raw materials for petrochemistry and military needs.
The "Tolyattikauchuk" plant in the Samara region was also hit; it specializes in the production of synthetic rubbers (which, in particular, are used in the subsequent production of solid rocket fuel for tactical and ballistic missiles), monomers, fractions, and high-octane gasoline additives. According to the General Staff, "command and observation posts of the occupiers in the areas of Obesta and Iskra in the Kursk region of the RF and in the area of Marynske in the Kherson region were also hit." A field artillery depot in the area of Rybyantseve, Luhansk region, and an enemy logistics warehouse in Mariupol, Donetsk region, were also hit," the General Staff indicated.
"Based on the results of clarified data regarding the Kuibyshev oil refinery in the Samara region of the RF hit on June 10, 2026, hits on the AVT-4 and AVT-5 primary oil distillation units and the RVS-2000 reservoir have been confirmed. The plant has stopped operations," the General Staff reported.
